The menu is filled with fresh and flavorful options that highlight the bounty of the sea.
Tempura lovers will appreciate the rich, crispy offerings that are a staple at Banya, though some may find it a bit hearty. It's also worth exploring the sashimi set, praised by Eric Dietz for its brilliance and freshness. Customers rave about the seafood don, featuring fresh tuna that will awaken your palate. Brian B's recommendation of the giant tendon plate is perfect for sharing, as it can easily satisfy three hungry diners. Moreover, don't miss out on the iwashi (sardine) nigiri sushi, which promises to be both delightful and fresh.
For those seeking an unforgettable experience, the XXL clams and the mind-blowingly good tempura bowl are must-tries, as emphasized by Kian Wee Chong. Each bite is a testament to the quality and care put into every dish at Banya. However, keep in mind the local surges of diners during peak hours; arriving early ensures a comfortable dining experience.
In summary, Banya is more than just a restaurant; it is a celebration of seafood, community, and culinary artistry. With warmth radiating from both the dishes and the staff, it's no surprise that this eatery continues to shine brightly in the heart of Chiba.
“ Great local touristy but solid quality seafood restaurant. Get there early to beat the crowds. The giant tendon plate is enough for 3 people. Also recommend the iwashi nigiri sushi. Really good and fresh. ”
“ The tempura was quite heavy (but nice). The sashimi set was brilliant though ”
“ Amazing food for an affordable price. Staff are all friendly, and they will let you get a doggy bag (take home what you don't finish) which is rare in Japan. Free parking across the street, and they have frozen himono(dried fish) that you can purchase on the way out. I ordered a tempura bowl, which was worth the price tag! As for the reason I didn't give 5 stars... They have anti-COVID measures in place, but unfortunately, it is a small place for the number of seats. The entrance is also crowded since they usually have a line. ”
“ Our second visit to Banya and it was just as good as the first time. The food was excellent, and the staff were very helpful after I managed to knock my soup over in to my lap. I may have been damp, but I still really enjoyed the food and the restaurant again. ”
“ My seafood don was amazing fresh tuna. Oyster and big clam tastes good too. The grilled clams(small ones) were a bit salty for me. We went on a Friday lunch so there's no line up. The place was a bit too warm, but I guess not their fault cuz the warm weather surprised everyone that day. ”
“ Super chill place for super seafood. The tempura bowl is mind blowing good! XXL clams are a must have! ”
